Synopsys Bootcamp Successfully Held at ITIV

From 23 to 27 February, the Synopsys Bootcamp took place at the Institute for Information Processing Technology (ITIV). The event was jointly organized by the KIT Chipdesign House (KCH) and Synopsys, targeting doctoral researchers from KIT and other universities in Baden-Württemberg. Around 20 participants took part in the intensive training program.
Over the course of five days, internationally connected Synopsys experts provided up‑to‑date knowledge and practical skills related to modern EDA tools. Participants worked step by step through key topics in chip development, including:
-
Digital chip design
-
EDA tools with AI support
-
Analog design
-
Verification
Following each theoretical introduction, extensive hands‑on lab sessions allowed participants to work directly with the corresponding Synopsys tools. The atmosphere was focused and productive; during the practical exercises, participants remained consistently motivated and engaged. Coffee and snacks offered throughout the day provided welcome refreshment during breaks.
The bootcamp strengthens the cooperation between KCH and Synopsys and supports the shared goal of further expanding modern chip design competencies at KIT.
