Kickoff of the “Chip Connect BW” Project Successfully Launched at ITIV

On January 23, 2026, the kickoff event for the “Chip Connect BW” project took place at ITIV — an important first step toward building a strong chip‑design network in Baden‑Württemberg.
The workshop was organized by Carola Browa, project manager at microTEC Südwest, together with the KIT Chip Design House (KCH), which, as a central player in chip‑design education and research, served as the event’s host.
microTEC Südwest is a leading network for microsystems engineering in Baden‑Württemberg, connecting stakeholders from industry, research, and academia to drive innovation and technology transfer.
A kickoff focused on networking
Following a joint lunch that provided an opportunity for initial in‑person exchange, the workshop officially began. The goal of the event was to bring the project team together, build understanding for the diverse perspectives of the participating partners, and define the first concrete steps for the project’s progression.
The “Chip Connect BW” project aims to:
-
connect key chip‑design stakeholders in Baden‑Württemberg,
-
support technology transfer,
-
and strengthen matching processes between industry, research, and additional stakeholders.
With these goals, the project contributes significantly to expanding regional chip‑design expertise and fostering future innovation initiatives.
The workshop marked an inspiring start and clearly demonstrated the strong shared interest in sustainably strengthening the chip‑design landscape in Baden‑Württemberg.
